Getting started
What do I actually say to Nitka?
Whatever just crossed your mind, the way you would say it to a person: “dentist Thursday at 3”, “Noah paid cash”, “quote the Hendersons £400 for the fence”. Nitka pulls out the who, the what, the when and the amounts, and files it. There is no format to learn.
Do I need to set up folders, tags or lists?
No. Nitka organises everything into threads by people, places and jobs, on its own. There is no list to maintain.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes. Capture is local first and always: memos queue on the phone and sync when you are back on.

How do I capture by voice?
Tap to start, tap to stop, rather than holding a button down while you speak.
Can I photograph things instead of typing?
Yes, and Nitka does not just store the picture: it reads it, keeps the relevant details, and creates the actions and reminders they imply. Photograph the van insurance letter and the July renewal becomes a reminder; snap a client lunch receipt and the amount is filed against that client.
Can I say what a photo is instead of typing it?
Yes. Once the picture is taken, record a short voice note, type a line, or do both. What you say leads and what you typed follows, so “the Hendersons' fence, quote due Friday” is enough for Nitka to file the photo and set the reminder. A spoken caption can run up to a minute.
How do I get emails into Nitka?
Forward the email from a registered address to your own Nitka address (it is in Settings, with a copy button), and it lands as a memo, subject and body included. Attachments are read too: PDFs and pictures (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC). Capture by email is included from the Silver plan.
Which email addresses can send to Nitka, and why does it matter?
Only yours. The address you signed up with works from the start, and on the Gold plan you can add others, your work mail for instance, each verified in Settings. Mail from an unknown address is simply dropped, and a message that cannot be authenticated gets a confirmation card instead of being trusted silently. That is the point: nobody can put things into your memory but you.
Can I mix languages?
Speak or type in whatever language you think in, and mix two in the same sentence. It understands either way.
Finding things again
How do I find something I told it weeks ago?
Ask in plain words: “how much did I quote the Hendersons?”, “when is the school trip?”. Nitka answers from your own memos, and says so when something is not in them.
What is the difference between asking a question and a report?
A question gets you an answer, now: “how much did I quote the Hendersons?” gets the number. A report is a document: months of related memos gathered into one structured write-up, the costs, dates and decisions in order. Ask a question when you need a fact; ask for a report when you need the whole story of a job, a trip, or a month of spending.
How do I get a report?
Ask for one, typed or dictated: “a report on the kitchen renovation”. The write-up stays in Nitka, and you can have it sent by email to one of your registered addresses. Reports are included from the Silver plan.
Can I export everything? And delete it?
Yes to both, at any time. Export gives you all of it as a file. Deleting your account erases your data from Nitka's servers and from the phone you delete it on.
Reminders and heads-ups
How do I set a reminder?
Say it, like everything else: “remind me Thursday morning”. And on any obligation, the three-dot menu lets you set or change the reminder by hand.
How do I set a repeating reminder?
Say it: “every Tuesday evening” becomes a real repeat, and missed ones do not stack up into a wall of overdue items.
What happens if I ignore a reminder?
It is raised again a limited number of times and then left alone. Nitka will not nag you forever.
I got a date wrong. How do I fix it?
Say so: “actually, it's the 5th”. No editing screen, no finding the original. Nitka shows you what it thinks you meant and which memo you meant it about; nothing changes until you confirm.
How do I mark something as done?
Two ways. Tap Done on the obligation. Or simply tell Nitka, the way you told it the task, and let it connect the two: forward the payment confirmation email, and the memo it becomes closes the “chase the payment” action on its own.
What is a heads-up?
A warning that two things you said do not fit together, even when neither is a calendar clash: a dentist visit booked thirty minutes after the school play, documents due while you are away.
Does Nitka read my calendar? Can it add events to it?
It reads your real events so its warnings and answers fit your actual day, and never stores your calendar. From a dated obligation you can create an event: Nitka opens your phone's calendar with the fields already filled in, and you save it. Nothing is ever added automatically.
Your data
What does Nitka keep?
Only what you chose to capture. No inbox mining, no screen recording, no background tracking.
Is my data used to train AI, or sold?
Never. Not sold, not shown as ads, not used to train models.
Price
Why is there no free-forever plan?
Because we would rather be accurate than free. Every memo you give Nitka is read and reasoned over by a top-tier AI model, and the checking that keeps its nudges worth trusting costs real compute, every day, for every user. A free-forever plan pays for that some other way: ads, selling attention, or quietly cutting quality. We chose none of them. Instead the price starts at $0.99 a month, low enough for most people, and your first three months are free, so Nitka has proved itself on your real life before you pay anything.
What happens after the three free months?
The Bronze plan continues at $0.99 a month unless you cancel, which you can do at any time from your App Store subscriptions.
What happens if I stop paying?
You keep access to everything you already captured, and you can still capture on the phone. Nothing new is synced or processed until a subscription resumes.
What is the difference between Bronze, Silver and Gold?
Limits, not different products; every plan connects everything you have told it. See the plan table.
